Job Description

The Talent Acquisition Consultant will support hiring departments in running effective hiring processes that are aligned with Dartmouth’s policies, priorities, principles, and values by providing counsel, education, and support with the appropriate recruitment actions to ensure a compliant hiring process based on established recruitment best practices and HR policies.
Incumbent consults with and partners with hiring managers to develop strong working relationships to understand departmental recruiting needs and develop recruiting strategies. The Talent Acquisition Consultant will develop and deliver informative and engaging educational training programs and workshops to foster the adoption of and strengthen inclusive selection processes.
The Talent Acquisition Consultant also partners with internal and external organizations to build a strong candidate pool by implementing proactive recruitment strategies, using creative advertising, audience marketing, and social media networking to attract candidates, increase diversity, reduce vacancy rates, and decrease time to fill.
Required Qualifications
  • At least 2-3 years of recruiting experience
  • Experience building strong business relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers
  • Organized self-starter with attention to detail and confidence in working independently
  • Collaborative team player who possesses excellent interpersonal skills, communication abilities, and puts team-goals above own
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with electronic applicant tracking system (PeopleAdmin)
  • Familiarity recruiting for a range of industries and functions
  • Experience supporting diversity recruitment initiatives
  • Demonstrated project planning and management
  • Experience working in higher education setting
  • Knowledge of employment laws and managing compliant searches

Sourcing and Networking
  • Actively sources and attracts strong and diverse candidates for Dartmouth using multiple platforms including career fairs and professional organizations, leveraging social media, candidate pipelines, and online and print advertising.
  • Keeps high level of candidate engagement by responding to candidate inquires in a timely and professional manner, engaging regularly through email and social media campaigns, and advertising relevant job opportunities.

Diversity & 
EEO initiatives
  • Monitors that hiring processes and practices are conducted in alignment with government legislation and Dartmouth’s policies, priorities, principles, and values by creating and supporting initiatives that lead to candidates being considered throughout the recruiting process in alignment with EEO laws and regulations.
  • Supports the Office of Institutional Diversity & Equity (IDE) in implementing affirmative action/equal opportunity programs in compliance with government regulations and Dartmouth institutional goals as well as in revising and refining the Affirmative Action Plan and annual reports.
Training and Educating
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive training curriculum and certification programs to ensure campus constituents and hiring managers are aware of and follow best hiring practices.
  • Engages with hiring managers and interviewers as needed to address needs and answer questions related to the recruiting process.
